My Formal Apology

Before I had kids, I frequented Babies R Us only for the occasional baby shower item. It was a very overwhelming place to me at the time. Now I can get around there in my sleep and consider it my Mecca. Anyways, every time I would pass by the baby gate section and see this gate, I was in complete horror.

Who in the world cages their children in? Seriously. How hard is it to just watch your children? I would actually go off on this tagent quite frequently as I would repeat, "I will NEVER buy one of those baby cages!"Something about caging your children like animals just seemed wrong.

Fast forward to 10 months later (actully it was 6 months)...

I LOVE THIS GATE! I call it Baby Jail. Not only does it keep all of the toys in one central location, I can put the girls in there and they can crawl all around and play, and I dont have to worry about them getting into anything. I know where they are at all times. It is wonderful! Granted, I did splurge and buy the extension kit so that the play area is 6 foot by 6 foot now. Maybe I can still make fun of the "horrible mothers" that dont buy the extension kit now. Anyways, I would like to make a public apology to any people I may have offended who have purchased the Supergate XT and similar products. I was speaking out of ignorance, and we all know that only hurts people. I will spend the rest of my life promoting such products that will contain my children.

I would also like to issue a formal apology in advance to these people.

This item is making more and more sense to me every day. This one even has a cute little purse to trick them into thinking you arent actually trying to leash them. What a concept!

Amen, Sister! In my 19 years of mom-hood, I have learned to NEVER say never. As soon as the words "I would NEVER let my kids...or I will NEVER use...etc", God starts laughing at me and next thing I know, there I am in the midst of Never-never land. He likes to keep me humble. And that's okay.

That's great!! I always hated the looks of those gates, too, and I'm oh so tempted to get one once Micah becomes mobile!
